Frequently asked questions

What about Intel Macs?

Resonant requires Apple Silicon (M1 or later) for on-device AI inference. Intel Macs don’t have the Neural Engine needed for real-time transcription.

What about Linux?

Not currently planned. We’re focused on Mac and Windows first.

Does it work offline?

Yes. All processing happens on your device. No internet connection required after the initial model download.

How big is the download?

The app is around 200 MB. Voice models are downloaded automatically on first launch.
